Leading with Inclusion: Lessons from year one of the WEOC National Loan Program

Panel Discussion / 2:45 PM

Women entrepreneurs have long faced barriers to accessing capital for their businesses – but what can funders do differently to support their success? In 2022, the Women’s Enterprise Organizations of Canada (WEOC) launched the WEOC National Loan Program as a response to these barriers. The loan program offers women business owners and women-majority businesses loans of up to $50,000 using an inclusive approach. This talk will dive into how WEOC and its loan fund partners are changing the funding landscape, including the lessons learned from the first year of the loan program and its impact on the entrepreneurs it serves.
